A safari in Kenya is an overwhelming experience—vivid and untamed. From the deep blue waters of Diani Beach to the majestic lions and wildebeest of the Maasai Mara, from the snow-capped slopes of Mt. Kilimanjaro to the striking pink flamingos of Lake Bogoria, every moment is a visual feast.
In August 2014, I traveled to Kenya with my wife and three daughters for a friend’s wedding, marking my third visit in just over a year. On my previous trips to the region for wedding assignments, I had documented my personal travel experiences on the iPhone 4. This time, on a month-long journey with my family, I continued the project using the iPhone 4s. With my binoculars as a makeshift telephoto lens, I captured landscapes and wildlife in an intimate, unfiltered way. This project, iKenya, became a diary of my travels, encounters, and experiences—fully shot, edited, and post-produced on the iPhone.
